What to Listen To: CD Spree

Does anyone even buy CD's anymore?

   If I really like an artist, I purchase the hard copy of their music: the compact disc. I am obsessed with obtaining the discs of all my favorite groups/artists. I've already posted about my CD purchases (The Poet's Laughter Lines), but these are new CD's and new musics. I recently bought CD's from the Arctic Monkeys, Eminem, Lana Del Rey, Lorde, and Taylor Swift. Kinda random, but so is my taste in music. I've had lots of difference influence in music from my mom, dad, brothers, and friends. I like having lots of variety when I listen to music when I run or do whatever, 'cause I listen to music pretty much whenever I am able. Now, with my new iPod (yes, I know, finally!!), I've been getting a whole bunch of new music to load onto it. After I lost all of my digital music due to my computer hard drive breaking, I've been even more interested in physical music. Now, if I do my research, I'm sure there is some way for me to recover my lost archives, but as of right now I'm good with my CD play and stack of discs.

     Music discs are just so cool. I love having stacks of them on my shelf. They look so pretty sitting there. Of course, it is nice to have music on the go whenever you want with an iPod; in fact, it is lovely for that mobility. But, when I am home cleaning or cooking, I like listening to CD's on my ten dollar CD player. It may seem stupid and old to still buy CD's, but it is something I plan on continuing. Some people collect movie DVDs or cassette tapes, I have my CD's.

To the content of the discs now. Okay, first of all, I didn't get all these in one sitting. It was a spread out spree, don't worry. All of these artists are ones that I like or are starting to like. Lana Del Rey and Lorde are what I started this spree with. After hearing them on Pandora, I wanted them for myself. Sadly, not all of the songs I wanted were on the discs, so I'll have to go back and get their other albums. I then purchased the Arctic Monkeys and Taylor Swift. One day I heard "Do I Wanna Know?" by the Arctic Monkeys on the radio in the car, and I new I just had to have the CD. Both me and my mother like the song "Blank Space" by Taylor, so we grabbed that, too, while we were at it. Lastly, I got myself some Eminem. Me, my cousin, and my brother were at Walmart getting some limes when we stumbled upon the $5 CD bin. After tossing aside Tween Hits and other poor discs, I finally found something worth looking for: The Eminem Show CD. All of these were in the span of about a few weeks, and now I've decided to blog about them.

Really though, does anyone even buy CDs anymore? Or is it an old person hobby? Either way, comment on your favorite artists of what I have listed and your favorite song. Or a different artist or group you think I may like. I know a lot of you guys won't like a lot of what I enjoy listening to. It's a fact.
