Essie: the Easy Choice

'Tis true. Of all nail lacquer, I do choose Essie. Being a well experienced nail artist (more or less so- more on the less side of things), I have found that Essie has one of the best nail polishes around. Sally Hansen pulls up with a close second. I like to have most of my nail polishes have the same caps, so I try and find a brand to stick with. It bothers me to have too many that aren't the same. I dunno, I just like having them color coordinated, and the different caps just don't work. Anyhow, Essie is my current choice of color.
Back when my collection was smaller, I really liked Sinful Colors. I had been introduced to that brand by a friend, and I guess I liked it enough to invest into it. A bad mistake. Though the bottles had nice looking colors, it wasn't the same story once the color was painted onto my nails. It wasn't as vibrant, and it took so many coats just to get a nice shade. Sadly, I had bought several of Sinful Colors paints, so I used them *shiver*. After realizing my awful mistake, I took the challenge of finding a new, better brand to buy bunches of. My strange want of several of the same brand may seem stupid to you, and it might be, but I like painting my nails with a constant liquid,. Each brand has their own thickness. Sinful Colors is rather thin, while Essie is a nice, somewhat thick paint. It all depends. So, on my journey to find the perfect nail polish, my mom had bought be a bottle of nail polish that so happened to be Essie. And I loved it. The fluency was perfect, and the color was so vibrant. It also doesn't chip/peel as quickly as Sinful Colors. Every time I found a color I liked in Essie, I would buy it. By this time, the search for Sinful Colors was over.
Now, Essie is a pretty expensive brand. But, I would say it is defiantly worth it. I usually only get Essie when it is on sale now that I have my collection established. The reason it's worth it is because of the quality. It lasts for long periods of time, looks nice and shiny, goes on smooth, and the colors are just phenomenal. This post isn't really to sway you to buy Essie or anything lol, but I just want to share my finds in the world of nail colors.

Featured above are my favorite colors: Tart Deco (the orange), Mint Candy Apple (blue), Muchi Muchi (pink), and Urban Jungle (purple). They are all nice, pastel colors that can go with almost anything. Enjoy, and maybe check them out for yo'self :)

The Poet's Laughter Lines

What would you do if you got a CD jam-packed full of awesome Bastille songs? Well, I would listen to it until I hate it, of course! Thankfully, my buy was worth it because I don't hate it, and I'm pretty sure I've listened to both CDs for an accumulative of probably 36 hours already. Yep, worth it.

But Pharrel Williams for real, I really like Bastille, a lot. The music is sorta sadistic, in a way. A few of the songs sound really creepy, 'cause it was made to sound like an old vinyl that got messed up. The video for "Of the Night" is super creepy, too. I would not want that to start playing when I am alone in a dark room. Just putting that out there. It is sorta similar to Imagine Dragons and Coldplay (both groups I absolutely LOVE). Most people don't like my type of music, and that's just fine. A lot of what I listen to is, different I guess. My brothers pretty much hate my new Bastille CD, and they don't really like Coldplay either. They really like Red Hot Chili Peppers and Imagine Dragons, though, which is good. If you took a look at my classic iPod, or even my Pandora stations, you could see I have an extremely wide variety of music. I'll provide a list of recommended music at the end of this post :)
To me, music is a lot. A whole bunch of my time is taken up by Varsity marching band. I play the clarinet, by the way. As a clarinetist, I take real pride in what our band is able to accomplish in concert and in marching band :P I would rather go to a Red Hot concert than go to the mall (I don't know, where does the youth of today hang out?). At our country fair, Three Doors Down came, and I went to their concert instead of hanging out with my friends at the rides and games. Worth it, 100%. They are absolutely amazing in concert, they kept on addressing the audience as "my friends". How awesome!! Anyhow, music helps me work better: sewing, homework, really anything. If I could, I would go to sleep listening to music, but I can't 'cause I want to listen to all the lyrics ha. But really, if I didn't have the ability to obtain music like I can (like being allowed to buy CD's and whatnot), I don't think I would be quite the same person. Maybe you other people don't feel it, but music doesn't necessarily change my thinking, but it definitely changes me in some way. The way certain artists sing (especially live versions!!) and the instruments put together really well just... feel good. I especially love it when artists redo their songs live and with an orchestra in the stead of whatever they had before. (Pompeii with strings is an awesome example, it is such an amazing song with strings!!) Listening to good music can change my mood and help me calm down if I'm upset or frustrated. I have a play list on my iPod called "Chillin' Jams" that have a whole buncha music that I like to listen to settle down. I don't know, maybe I'm making my music seem more philosophical then it really is, but you know. Gah, how do I even explain this??  Do any of you guys feel that music is special in some way or another? All I know is I like music. Possibly it's just I'm a loser and take consul in other's musical achievements. Now I'm starting to over-think my love for music...

Well, here is a list of music/artists I absolutely LOVE and hope some of you enjoy:
